2007 District Letter from CommissionersGRANT COUNTY FIRE DIST. NO. 3
1201 Central Ave S
Keven Gardner, Commissioner
April 10, 2008 Members of Grant County Fire District #3: 2007 has been a year of many challenges, growth and achievement. Great strides toward improvement of the District have been accomplished. After approximately 18 months of negotiations, The City of Quincy and Grant County Fire District #3 agreed and executed a new five year contract for services. Many hours were spent discussing various points of the agreement. The Districts goal has always been to provide the highest degree of protection at a fair and reasonable cost, to the residents of the District and City. Grant County Fire District #3 and Grant County Hospital District #2 joined together in their efforts to secure the emergency medical service future of the District. As a result, a true partnership and better understanding of the professional service that both GCFD#3 and GCHD#2 provide came to surface and became our common goal. Voter’s agreed and passed the levy with a 66.96%. On November 19, 2007 the Board voted and accepted the new Main Station as complete. With approximately one hundred and ninety thousand dollars remaining in the construction account, the members of Grant County Fire District #3 have encouraged the Board to utilize these funds to complete the remaining four resident rooms. This spring the Board will seek bids for this project. Investing back in to “Our Own” the Board hired Strategic Learning Resource to assist with team building and development of the “Strategic Plan” for Grant County Fire District #3. Many hours of hard work, sweat and discussion were invested into this project, not only by Staff, but Volunteers and members of the Community. The Staff presented the plan to the Board on December 5th and was adopted. The strategic plan is the road map into our future and gives clear direction on the needs of the organization. With these enormous accomplishments complete, the Board is anxious to tackle 2008. With a great team of Staff and Volunteers nothing is beyond reach. Thank you for all your efforts and dedication.
